About

Alice De Soer launched Rural Response Limited in the autumn of 2020 and since then has seen a rapid increase in demand from rural professionals and organisations seeking her professional consultancy services and expertise.

A Harper Adams University graduate (BSc(Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management), Alice  worked in livestock markets and private practice to gain "hands on" experience before taking her professional qualifications in 2002.  She qualified as a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) . At the same time she took the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) examinations, was awarded the CAAV West Midlands Examination Group Prize for the highest practical examination mark and became a Fellow (FAAV).

Alice has spent over 18 years working on agricultural policy and rural schemes design and implementation in England. She "survived" two Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reforms and worked on the Agriculture Bill and post-Brexit agricultural policy, assisting DEFRA, the Rural Payments Agency and other Government organisations.

She was awarded the CAAV National Kenneth Glenny Prize in 2015 for her committed work on behalf of land agents with the somewhat challenging introduction of the Basic Payment Scheme in England that year.

A wealth of knowledge and expertise has seen Alice deliver trusted advice and support to hundreds of rural professionals and their clients, as well as establishing herself as a highly respected and effective influencer with senior Government officials and delivery bodies.

Alice has spoken at numerous conferences around the country with her renowned "down to earth" approach. She has also written extensive briefing documents, translating technical and legal concepts to explain practical impacts for farms and estates, as well as drafting articles for the farming press.

Away from the work office, Alice can be found in the world of equestrian dressage; training her upcoming youngster and dabbling in amateur breeding of dressage competition horses.
